Pre-K Brushes up on Dental Care

To celebrate National Children’s Dental Health Month, Pre-K students at Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School recently completed a study of dental hygiene. “We learned about ways to take care of our teeth, foods that are good and bad for our teeth, and we even got a chance to brush our teeth and use mouthwash in the classroom!” said Pre-K teacher Logan Zastawny.

To culminate their studies, both morning and afternoon Pre-K classes were paid a visit from Rockside Family Dental Care. Jane Gibson, D.D.S, and Melanie Juris, a receptionist at Rockside Dental Family Dental Care, talked to the students about oral health. They discussed the importance of brushing, flossing, and eating the right foods to keep teeth strong and healthy.

Students got the chance to dress up as teeth while another student dressed as a dentist and wielded a giant toothbrush to ‘brush’ the teeth. “It was such a fun way to end National Children's Dental Month,” said Zastawny.
