Nashville Trip to Enrich Students’ Music Experiences

The Country Music Hall of Fame, the Grand Ole Opry, the Gibson Guitar Factory, dinner and a show at the Nashville Nightlife Dinner Theatre. These are among the adventures awaiting students who attend a field trip to Nashville, Tennessee scheduled for April 11-14.  “Our itinerary includes opportunities to explore the best that Nashville has to offer,” said teacher Noah Hamrick, band and choir teacher. The experience is open to all Cuyahoga Heights High School students who are involved in curricular and co-curricular music programs.

Hamrick noted how the trip ties in with the district’s distinction of being named one of the “Best Communities for Music Education” for the nearly two decades. This award from the The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation recognizes districts for their outstanding commitment to music education. Cuyahoga Heights Schools were one of only 45 districts in Ohio to receive this award this past school year. Collectively, the district has received this award for the past 19 consecutive years. “Taking meaningful and enriching music trips plays no small part in that storied success,” said Hamrick. “We are thrilled to continue the tradition this school year, particularly on behalf of our high school seniors who had a number of school trips canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.”

To directly support the students’ fees for the trip, the Music Department is holding a Calendar Raffle. Participants can purchase tickets in the following increments:
