Board Recognizes Students of the Month for October

The October 18 Board of Education meeting provided an opportunity for the Cuyahoga Heights Board of Education to recognize Students of the Month for October. Each student was presented with a certificate.

Recognized are the following students from Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School:

Evangeline West-Grade 4

Eva is being recognized for exhibiting a positive attitude each and every day.  “She works hard and puts forth her best effort,” said one of her teachers. “She is a role model to her peers and is kind and caring to everyone she encounters.  She works well with her classmates and is always engaged in our lessons.” 

Jonah Shop-Grade 4

Jonah comes to school happy and ready to learn. He participates in class and sets a good example for his peers.  He works hard and is an independent learner.  He is helpful to those around him and is always prepared for the day. 

Recognized are the following students from Cuyahoga Heights Middle School: 

Chelsy Stys-Grade 6

According to one of her teachers, “Chelsy is always prepared for class and is kind!  She has a great attitude, and never fails to help the people around her.  She makes everybody's day better by just being herself.”

Madisyn Palmer-Grade 7

Madisyn shows exceptional motivation and inspires her classmates and teachers alike. “Maddie comes to class each day with a positive attitude and a readiness to learn,” says one of her teachers. “She consistently works hard, turns in assignments on time, and seeks out extra help when needed.” Maddie actively participates in class discussions and takes initiative to improve.  

Nora Gannon-Grade 8 

Nora consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and determination to succeed, particularly in math class. “She does not give up easily,” says her teacher.  “When faced with challenging material, she remains focused and perseveres through any difficulties.” She takes initiative to get extra help during morning study tables and during study hall. Thanks to her consistent effort and motivation to grow, she has made wonderful progress this year. 

Recognized from Cuyahoga Heights High School:

Luke Kretin-Grade 9

“Luke is essentially what Student of the Month is all about,” says one of his teachers. “He is an extraordinarily nice student who is always respectful to his peers and his teachers. He is super helpful and does nice things simply to make other people's lives easier.” 

Ayden Archazki-Grade 10

Ayden's science teacher nominated him for his enthusiasm in entering the honors track in science. “He participates regularly in class and stays on top of all of his quizzes and tests. He always gets his work done and he never complains about anything. I can't wait to see how far he goes this year,” says his teacher. 

Sal Grissman-Grade 11 

Sal comes to school every day with great energy and a positive spirit that brightens up the day for everyone with whom he comes into contact. “In my government class, Sal has been working hard at learning the fundamentals of the governmental system and how he is going to fit in as an informed and participating citizen and its political processes,” said his social studies teacher. Sal is also involved with the high school football team participating in practices and after school conditioning. He also helps to collect paper from classrooms for recycling.  

Madison Dobson–Grade 12

Madison has been routinely coming to the Media Center for study hall for the last couple of years. “What I observe daily is that she is a mature, serious student who uses her time well and focuses on her studies.” Madison is quiet, respectful, and courteous to others. She is an athlete having played volleyball and will continue with softball in the spring.
