To Cuyahoga Heights School Families:

This morning, as students were entering the buildings, we received a bomb threat to the middle school/high school via phone message. Students were immediately evacuated and authorities notified. We quickly made the decision to close school for the day as we were scheduled to have more than 400 visitors on campus. At the time, elementary students were on buses en route to school. Bus drivers were directed to return those students home. We implemented a reunification plan for middle/high school students. Parents picked up their children at the reunification site and any remaining middle/high school students were bussed home. The building was thoroughly swept by law enforcement and authorities are working to determine the origin of the phone call. Tomorrow is a scheduled day off for students. Classes will resume Monday at regular times. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused school families. However, the safety of our students and staff is always a top priority in our district. The boys and girls soccer matches and the fall concert scheduled for this evening will be rescheduled.
