Board Recognizes Students of the Month for September

The Cuyahoga Heights Board of Education recognized Students of the Month at the September 20, 2023 meeting.  Recognized were the following students. 

From Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School:

Gabriella Rotger - Grade 5

According to her teachers, Gabby is an exemplary student and a positive role model for her classmates. She is a joy to teach, soaking up all there is to know and pushing herself to get better and better at all she does. She is positive, hardworking, curious, helpful, and kind. Her classmates can count on her to be a good friend 

Jack Zink - Grade 5

Jack’s teachers say that he has many admirable qualities, including leadership, curiosity, athleticism, creativity and kindness. He brings a smile to school each day – usually along with an awesome story to share. He does what is right, even when it would be easier to go along with the crowd. He also cares for his classmates, including  those who are not as confident as he is.

From Cuyahoga Heights Middle School: 

Santi Dehn - Grade 6 

According to his teachers, Santi is off to a great start this school year as demonstrated by his organizational skills, engagement in the classroom, and willingness to perform in a manner that exceeds expectations. Other noticeably impressive qualities include courage, respect, determination, confidence, self-discipline, and a strong work ethic.  

Santi appreciates the importance of leading by example through chivalrous acts.  Through chivalrous acts he has demonstrated the ability to lead by example. 

Colton Kucia - Grade 7 

Whether by offering a helping hand or giving words of comfort, embodies the true essence of kindness and courage. He goes above and beyond to show kindness to his peers and teachers, and this helps to create a positive and compassionate school He isn't afraid to step out of his comfort zone to try new things. He also works to create an atmosphere of inclusivity that is commendable.  

Hunter Andrews – Grade 8

Hunter has started off the year strong and prepared with his necessary supplies. He has had the courage to participate in class daily since the first day. His teachers are proud of the kind, considerate young man Hunter is becoming and cannot wait to see his success continue throughout the year. 

From Cuyahoga Heights High School:

Lorelei Winslow - Grade 9

As early as it is in the school year, it is already apparent that Lorelei is a leader in her grade. She is active in Model United Nations and will try out for the Mock Trial team. She is curious and comes prepared to class. She is positive, affable, and willing to help her peers. 

Aiden Marvel - Grade 10

Aiden is a quiet student who strives to do his best every day. He demonstrates a positive attitude and is able to ask for guidance when needed. He is always willing to try his hardest to be successful. His effort and attention to detail will serve him well in Life. 

 Yerica Tangri - Grade 11

Yerica is a remarkable and well-rounded young adult, who is very much a leader among her peers. She has pushed herself to participate in sports, the arts and Model United Nations.  “I do not think there has been a single day at the high school that she has failed to ask me how my day has been,” said one of her teachers. “Her being named a Student of the Month is long overdue!”

Kellen Katona – Grade 12

According to one of his teachers, Kellen is a mature, well-rounded young adult. “One of the distinct pleasures that teachers are lucky enough to witness is seeing a student grow. Kellen faced his trepidations about speaking in front of others and commanded the room during the Mock Trial competition and managed to trip up another school's attorney who has been far more experienced in the competition than he was.”This teacher looks forward to seeing Kellen compete in this year’s competitions."
