College Board Announces CHHS AP Scholars

A total of 32 Cuyahoga Heights High School students earned the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board in recognition of their achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Program exams. Four students qualified for two awards.

The College Board’s AP Program offers students the opportunity to take college-level courses while still in high school. In addition, they can receive college credit, advanced placement or both for successful performance on the AP exams. Each year, the AP program recognizes students who have performed exceptionally well on the AP exams.

Six students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and grades of three (3) or higher on five or more of the exams. They were recent graduates Jacob Del Valle, Rebecca Schuster, Sam Wheelock, Noah Wilson, and Sarah Youngless and current senior Henry Clay.

Five students earned the AP Scholar with Honor Award by having an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken and grades of three (3) or higher on four or more of the exams. They were the recently graduated Jack Bohning, and current seniors Ava Galek, Hayes Kwong, Charles Lakus, and Anna Patterson.

Nineteen students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams with a score of three (3) or higher. They were recent graduates Janasia Bridges, Jacob Casey, Urja Chauhan, Raymond Chen, Riley Connors, Jaden Figard, Jasmin Graver, Madeline Hepburn, Sophia Janezic, Carl Justice, Natalie Mischak, Ava Peck, Hyatt Taylor, and Maecy Voytek; and current seniors Francis Connors, Reece Frank, Sarah Glenn, Danielle Mach, and Francesca Ross.

Recent graduates Jacob Casey and Sam Wheelock also earned an AP Capstone Diploma. This is awarded to students who earn scores of three (3) or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research and on eight (8) additional AP exams.

Recent graduates Gianna Grattino. Jasmin Graver, and Ava Peck were granted the AP Seminar & Research Certificate for scoring a three (3) or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research.
