On Saturday, May 16, 16 members of the high school and eighth-grade orchestra will travel to Cedar Point to participate in Performance in the Parks. The festival, which takes place over multiple weekends and theme parks across the country, provides a fun and educational end-of-the-year experience for school bands and orchestra, and choirs.
“Our student performers will participate in a performance, adjudicated by professional clinicians, followed by time in the park together and culminating in an Award Ceremony that celebrates their commitment to excellence in music education,” said Orchestra Director Grace Brown. The students will perform “The Ash Grove”, a traditional Welsh folk song arranged by Jim Palmer, and “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay arranged by Larry Moore.
To prepare for the performance, the students are hard at work practicing their music both individually and in orchestra classes. “I’m so proud I am of all my orchestra students for their hard work, dedication, and support for one another,” said Brown about the students commitment to making the performance a success
