One mile. Every hour. For 24 hours straight.
Avi Friedt and Bram Podoll are taking on an incredible physical and mental challenge this weekend as participants in The 24 in 24, an annual Northeast Ohio event that raises funds to support local children facing life-threatening medical conditions and their families.
Beginning today, October 3, Avi and Bram will attempt to run one mile at the start of every hour for 24 consecutive hours, a total of 24 miles over the course of an entire day and night. The challenge is designed to push participants beyond their comfort zones, all in support of children and families facing their own challenges.
This year, The 24 in 24 benefits Workshop of Wishes, a Northeast Ohio nonprofit that works with local hospitals to bring hope and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions and support their families. The cause hits especially close to home for the Cuyahoga Heights Schools community, as Workshop of Wishes has supported multiple district students and their families.
Since its founding in 2015, The 24 in 24 has raised more than $3.2 million for Northeast Ohio children and families. What began with just 15 challengers has grown to hundreds of participants coming together for the same purpose: making a difference for local children.
As Avi and Bram prepare to take on 24 miles in 24 hours, the Cuyahoga Heights Schools community can cheer them on and support the cause by donating to either challenger.
