Jase Prater

Cuyahoga Heights Middle School sixth grader Jase Prater captured the Buckeye Wrestling Association State Championship in the 132-lb. weight class on February 15, 2026, becoming the first youth state champion in the school’s history. JThe championship took place at the Kent State MAC Center, where Jase delivered a performance that will be remembered for years to come. 

Competing in the Buckeye Wrestling Association (also known as the Ohio Elite Youth Wrestling Association), Jase dominated the bracket from start to finish. Not only did he enter the tournament undefeated for the season – he pinned every opponent he faced at the state meet, showcasing strength, skill, and determination throughout the entire day. His commanding performance left no doubt about who was the best in the 132-lb. division.

With this victory, Jase set a new standard for excellence that will inspire future wrestlers in the program. “We congratulate Jase on an incredible season and a championship performance!,” said Cuyahoga Heights Schools’ Athletic Director/Activities Coordinator Paul Gerycz. “Your hard work, dedication, and dominance on the mat have made your school and community proud.”
