At the December 10 meeting, the Cuyahoga Heights Board of Education honored nine Students of the Month for December 2025. These include two students in one grade level from Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School (CHHS), three students from Cuyahoga Heights Middle School (CHMS), and four students from Cuyahoga Heights High School (CHHS). Board members presented each student with a certificate. Recognized were the following:
From CHES:
Norah Candow – Grade 2
Norah strives to create a positive environment in and out of the classroom by being caring, honest, engaged, and safe at all times. She consistently shows kindness and empathy towards others and is always willing to lend a helping hand. Her peers trust and respect her as a leader because she is always honest. Norah is engaged at all times in our classroom. She takes an active role in her learning by asking questions, listening attentively, and showing curiosity about new ideas. Together, these qualities make Norah a role model for her peers.
Killian McCarthy – Grade 2
Killian is a model student at CHES. He consistently leads by example, demonstrating the core pillars of being caring, honest, engaged, and safe. What stands out most about Killian is his active participation. He’s always engaged, asks insightful questions, and offers thoughtful responses. His kindness and support toward his peers make him a true role model to other students. There’s no doubt Killian will go on to achieve amazing things.
From CHMS:
Owen Nichols – Grade 6
Owen is a complete rockstar both in the Resource Room and General Education setting. He has a positive outlook, and is not afraid to take on challenges. He strives for excellence in everything he does, always lends a helping hand, and is always respectful while also putting a smile on everyone’s face.
Kathleen (Kalee) Conte – Grade 7
Kalee truly exemplifies what it means to serve others. She consistently gives her best effort in the classroom, completing her work with care and asking thoughtful questions that enhance class discussions. She is respectful to both her teachers and peers, and her positive attitude makes her a joy to be around. Whether lending a helping hand to a classmate or showing kindness in small ways, she leads by example and makes our school community better.
Rhys Munoz – Grade 8
Rhys is always willing to lend a helping hand, support classmates, and contribute to our school community with a caring heart. His kindness and willingness to serve others make a positive difference every day.
From CHHS:
Liam Kmetz – Grade 9
Liam is an excellent student. He is very mature for a freshman. He practices every night to prepare for class. He does a nice job communicating when called on in class. His hard work in the first quarter of the school year paid off as Liam earned excellent scores on his assessments.
Laurel Gosnell – Grade 10
Laurel is a focused artist with a very positive attitude. She takes direction as an opportunity to reflect and grow. She is a great classmate that leads by example.
Raven Rhea – Grade 11
Raven enters her Environmental Science class each morning with a cheerful attitude. She is always one of the first to volunteer to help when something needs to be done. She ensures that our indoor winter herb garden is organized and healthy, and then begins her daily work. She takes great care in all that she does, is kind, pays close attention to details, and works well alongside her current project partner.
Marco Cheiffallo – Grade 12
Marco is an excellent student and even better classmate. He is always generous with his time, and always willing to help. Marco is always respectful and puts others above himself.
