Students of the Month and BOE members.

At the November 19 meeting the Cuyahoga Heights Board of Education honored Students of the Month for November 2025. Board members presented each student with a certificate. Recognized with a certificate where the following students:

From Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School (CHES):

Julie Liu – Grade 5

Julie tackles new challenges seriously, eagerly, and with a positive attitude. She shows perseverance in all that she does, and consistently makes good choices in all parts of the school day. She has a kind, caring, and friendly attitude that makes her a friend to all. 

Michael Kadas – Grade 5

Michael (Mikey) can always be counted on to be mindful of the CHES motto: Caring, Honest, Engaged, and Safe! He consistently makes good choices in all parts of the school day. He is always willing to help anyone with anything. He works very hard on his schoolwork, is polite to both adults and peers, and brightens each classroom he enters with his positivity and enthusiasm.  

From Cuyahoga Heights Middle School:

Evangeline West – Grade 6

Evangeline (Eva) is a well-rounded individual who balances academic excellence with kindness and integrity. She has an outstanding work ethic and a positive attitude every day. She approaches each task with determination and focus, always putting forth her best effort. In class, She eagerly participates in discussions and isn’t afraid to answer questions or share ideas. She consistently follows directions, sets a great example for peers, and shows respect to both classmates and teachers. Overall, she helps to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. 

Wesley Barrett – Grade 7 

Wes truly exemplifies generosity in and out of the classroom. He consistently completes his work on time and demonstrates a strong commitment to his academics, excelling in his advanced classes. Beyond his academic success, Wes is known for his kindness, respect, and willingness to help others. As a member of the football team, he contributes not only to his team’s success but also to the positive spirit of our school community. His generosity, both in effort and attitude, makes a lasting impact on those around him. 

Nickolas Zody – Grade 8 

Nickolas (Nick) truly embodies the spirit of generosity. He is always willing to lend a helping hand to classmates, share his materials, and offer encouragement to others. His thoughtful actions and willingness to give without expecting anything in return make a positive impact on the school community. 

From Cuyahoga Heights High School:

Isabella Diaz – Grade 9 

Isabella is hardworking and driven. She will take opportunities to better herself and rewrite assignments to make sure she is getting it right. Additionally, as a new member of the Mock Trial team, she spends time during lunch and Freshmen Foundations class to better understand the case she is working on and learn from her more experienced peers to strengthen her case. 

Hunter Andrews – Grade 10 

Hunter is thoughtful, generous, and selfless, and brightens the day of everyone he meets. Always the first to volunteer, Hunter makes sure problems are solved and needs are met, sometimes at the expense of his own needs.  He is working on himself everyday to find more balance as he continues to grow as a remarkable young man. He is always positive and helpful, and is becoming a great leader. A trumpet player, Hunter is a dedicated member of the marching band. He is always on time and ready to contribute his talents. In addition to playing the trumpet, he has also taken up the cello in the Electric Strings Club and joined Drama Club this year  to put on “The Music Man”. 

Tyler Meadwell – Grade 11

Tyler does a great job in Algebra 2 class, says his teacher.  He has a very analytical mind and picks up math concepts very quickly.  He has been using his math talents to patiently help other Algebra 2 students during his study hall. 

Christian Kummerlen  - Grade 12 

After joining the district as a sophomore, Christian has grown in confidence and now performs incredibly well academically. Even now, as a senior, he's interested in learning new things and taking on new challenges. He works very hard, but isn't arrogant about his talents. He never hesitates to help a classmate who is lost.
