October Students of the Month

The October 15 Cuyahoga Heights Schools’ Board of Education meeting provided an opportunity for the members to recognize Students of the Month for October 2025. Each student was presented a certificate commemorating their accomplishment

Recognized from Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School:

Nathan Marmo – Grade 4

Nathan is a self-motivated student who comes to school every day ready to learn. He puts forth his best effort in all of his classes and perseveres even when faced with a challenge. His positive attitude sets a great example for his classmates. He is an active learner and is always taking notes, completing his work independently, and participating when working in a small group. 

Lilly Russell – Grade 4

Lilly quietly leads by example with the strong effort she puts forth every day.  She is kind and respectful to her teachers and her peers. A great role model, she is responsible and organized, which contributes to her success. Her hard work and effort really show in her achievements in all subjects.  

Recognized from Cuyahoga Heights Middle School: 

Arlo Darling – Grade 6

Arlo consistently takes the initiative to excel academically, demonstrating a strong commitment to his own education and continuing to reach new heights as a proud Cuyahoga Heights Middle School student. He shows great awareness and support for his peers, actively seeking ways to assist them in their individual growth. His thoughtfulness and kindness extend to everyone around him, creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere. Arlo is also creative and possesses a great sense of humor. He knows how to be present in various situations, brings both inspiration and rigor to his interactions with others. His teachers look forward to watching his growth throughout sixth grade and beyond.

Cullen Chamberlin – Grade 7

Cullen Chamberlin has outstanding self-control and dedication both in and out of the classroom. A student enrolled in advanced classes, he consistently puts forth his best effort and demonstrates a strong work ethic that sets a positive example for his peers. His pleasant attitude makes him a joy to have in class, and his ability to stay focused and composed helps him to succeed academically.

Madeline Mielnik – Grade 8

Maddie consistently carries herself with confidence and integrity, making choices that reflect her values and goals. She sets a positive example for others by treating herself with kindness, taking responsibility for her actions, and showing pride in her work.  Her ability to stay true to herself while encouraging others to do the same makes her a role model in our school community. 

Recognized from Cuyahoga Heights High School:

Vanessa El Hachach – Grade 9

Vanessa is doing a fantastic job in Algebra 1, according to her teacher. She is prepared every day and has performed at a high level on all assessments. She shows a great deal of maturity for a freshman. She communicates well, asks questions when she needs to, and holds herself to a high standard. “She is an asset to our 6th period Algebra 1 class,” her teacher said.

Drayden Whitlow – Grade 10

Drayden is a hard worker and a very personable young man. This year, he stepped up and enrolled in Honors English. He has a sincere ambition to improve his writing ability and is willing to do the work necessary to make that happen. 

Gianna Falkner – Grade 11

“Gianna is a leader in our 4th period Algebra 2 class,” writes her teacher.  She comes to class prepared every day and responds to the more challenging questions during class discussions.  She performs well on assessments and her commitment to learning sets a great example for her peers.

Maurice McClardy – Grade 12

Maurice works very hard in Algebra 2. He consistently seeks out extra help when he is struggling on a concept. He stays positive when things get difficult and always has a plan for success. Our class benefits from his positive attitude.
