Nominated by their teachers, the Cuyahoga Heights Board of Education recognized the nine Students of the Month at the May 28 meeting. Each student was presented a certificate.
Nominated from Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School:
Arthur Heiberger - Kindergarten
From the moment Arthur arrived, he has shown a genuine love for learning. He approaches daily activities with enthusiasm and curiosity. His strong work ethic and determination have led to his mastery of all addition and subtraction facts to 18. His consistent effort has found him quickly approaching mastery of multiplication and division. What makes Arthur stand out, however, is his kind and caring nature. He is always the first to help a friend in need. His positive attitude not only brightens our classroom but also sets a wonderful example for his classmates. He embodies the qualities of hard work, kindness, and a love for learning and is an inspiration to his classmates.
Kate Bogner - Kindergarten
Kate is a blend of focus and imagination. Kate comes in every day excited and ready to learn. She has a remarkable work ethic and excels in all academic areas. Whether it is learning new sight words, becoming a fluent reader, tackling challenging math problems, or crafting during project time, Kate is always giving it her 100%. She approaches every new learning experience with grit and has the ability to think “outside the box”. She is determined, curious, caring, kind, and always willing to offer a helping hand. Her creative spirit shines through in everything she does, making the classroom a more joyful place.
From Cuyahoga Heights Middle School:
Cameron Walker – Grade 6
Cam demonstrates leadership in class every day in a multitude of ways, and he is as reliable as they come. He lets his incredible talent shine through, always putting forth his best effort and putting passion into his work.
Rose Jackson - Grade 7
Throughout this academic year, Rose has demonstrated maturity and a transformed attitude toward learning. Her newfound initiative and improved focus has directly contributed to her academic progress. This is evident in how she actively participates in class discussions as well as how she approaches challenges. Her journey exemplifies the personal development her teachers hope to foster in all students.
Isaac Mann – Grade 8
As a new student, Isaac jumped right in without missing a beat – showing dedication, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to succeed from day one. His initiative makes him a valuable part of the school community.
From Cuyahoga Heights High School:
Nora Gannon – Grade 9
Nora is a super kind and respectful person, who positively influences those around her. She always tries her best, works well with others, and is a delight to have in class. The world would be a better place if everyone were all a little more like Nora.
Kaitlyn Amari – Grade 10
Kaitlyn is an incredibly hard worker, who is kind and an all-around great young adult. She has pushed herself in her Advanced Placement (AP) European History class and often answers questions and aids her peers in AP history in and outside of the classroom. She is also incredibly active in multiple school clubs and sports. She has grown considerably throughout the year.
Jackson Justice – Grade 11
Jackson is a fundamentally good person who lifts up others around him and has a fantastic sense of humor. He pushes himself while taking advanced courses and while also attending the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center where he is enrolled in the Fire and EMS Academy program. It is a pleasure to have such an upstanding young adult in class.
Addison Bohning – Grade 12
Addison is an outstanding young adult who is also a budding leader. While taking multiple Honors and AP courses across the various academic disciplines, she has consistently challenged herself beyond many of her peers with a rigorous course of study, while growing academically. An outstanding athlete, she is a trusted teammate who also pushes herself to excel in sports. She was among an elite group of students chosen to help lead and facilitate the Ohio Leadership Institute’s Ohio Model United Nations as a state officer. Her leadership and maturity helped to ensure a positive experience for the more than 1,200 students who participated in the Model UN conference this past year.
