September 23-28 was a “spirited” one as students throughout the district celebrated Spirit Week leading up to the annual Homecoming Game And Dance.
On Monday, students showed their patriotic selves by wearing red, white, and blue. Tuesday celebrated the fashion trends of comedy legend and Gen Z favorite Adam Sandler and his iconic wardrobe consisting of oversize clothing and clashing horizontal and vertical stripes. Wednesday was dubbed “White Lie” day where everyone was encouraged to wear a white t-shirt on which was written a small fib revealing a little about the wearer’s personality. Thursday’s theme was “Golden/Sunset Out” where students were encouraged to reflect the autumn tones of yellows and golds. Friday celebrated “anything but a backpack” day where students found creative ways to carry their books and materials around the school in anything but the traditional school backpack.
At a Friday pep rally, high school students enjoyed skits, cheers, the pumped-up sounds of the Red Wolves Marching Band, and were introduced to members of the Homecoming Court: Alisa Villanueva, Vince Snyder, Katharine Buccier, Zachary Unger, Paige Henley, Kyle Porter, Lillian Kretin, Devon Dzik, Ariana Rebello, and Tamir Julious.
Finally, the 2024 King And Queen were announced. Congratulations to Zach Unger and Katie Buccier! The week culminated on Saturday, September 28 with the annual homecoming dance, themed “The Golden Hour,” in the high school cafeteria.
