The Cuyahoga Height Board of Education recognized nine students at the Board meeting on September 25. Each student was presented a certificate commemorating their accomplishment.
Students recognized from Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School were:
Sophie Long – Grade 5
Sophie is pure sweetness! She embodies what it means to be caring, honest, engaged, and safe here at school. Not a day goes by where Sophie does not share her kind smile and words with teachers and peers. Her attitude makes such a difference in the energy of the room. “She is up for any challenge and we feel so lucky that she is a part of our school,” said her teachers. “We wish more people could be like Sophie, because the world would be a better place.”
Marshall Worley – Grade 5
Marshall has an unbelievable attitude and passion for learning. He quite literally runs into school in the morning because he is so excited to learn. He asks thoughtful and engaging questions during class time and is always an active part of the discussion. He is also a great friend to all. His peers, and teachers, know they can rely on Marshall to help anytime they need a hand. He is dependable, helpful, full of joy and excitement, and a true budding star.
From Cuyahoga Heights Middle School:
Tyson Schmidt - Grade 6
Tyson comes prepared to class each day and is always focused on the task at hand. He is respectful to his teachers and peers. However, the most impressive trait Tyson has portrayed is his willingness to lend a helping hand to his teachers and classmates whenever needed. This consistent service to others without expecting anything in return is an invaluable character trait that serves as an excellent example for Tyler’s peers.
Mia Journic – Grade 7
Mia is off to a great start to the school year. She actively participates in class and communicates well with her teachers and peers. She is also involved in gymnastics and sings in the school choir. Her teachers look forward to more positive experiences with Mia as this year progresses.
Shaelynn Piwinski – Grade 8
Shaelynn has made an exceptional start to her 8th grade year, consistently demonstrating a wonderful attitude in every class. Her ability to stay focused and maintain a positive outlook has truly set a high standard for her peers. She is a pleasure to have in class, and her efforts have not gone unnoticed.
From Cuyahoga Heights High School:
Arianna Dickson – Grade 9
Arianna’s Art 1 teacher is impressed with her organization and attention to detail. She is a quiet/focused student who asks questions and uses her time wisely. Her teacher looks forward to seeing her grow as a student and artist.
Zach Shafer – Grade 10
“Zach is one of the nicest students that I’ve worked with in my 30 years of teaching and coaching,” said one of his teachers. He gets along with everybody and consistently looks out for students who are struggling. He works hard in the classroom and always sets a good example for his peers.
Jasmin Figard – Grade 11
Jasmin is an excellent math student. She participates fully in all class activities, puts a lot of effort into her homework, and is always prepared for class. She also has a great attitude. She comes into class on a daily basis ready to work and with a positive attitude.
Tamir Julious – Grade 12
Tamir takes his responsibilities very seriously and exhibits pride in his work, whether it be working on the maintenance staff the past two summers getting the schools ready for a new school year, or academically as evidenced by his membership in the National Honor Society. He is definitely a student to be counted on to remain true to his word. Additionally, he is a very pleasant person to be around: he always says hello, and is very polite. “I am lucky to have him in class this year!” says one of his teachers.
