Ryan Kelber

Ryan Kelber is Cuyahoga Heights Middle School/High School Athletic Director. In this capacity, he is responsible for managing all athletic-related functions including coordinating practices, schedules, and game management for all sports programs.  Additionally, he is responsible for hiring and managing coaches, promoting athletic events, establishing and managing athletic budgets and overseeing the district’s athletic facilities. Kelber joined Cuyahoga Heights Schools from the Brooklyn City School District where he was Athletic Director from 2012-2018. He also taught social studies in the Brooklyn Schools from 2008-2018. 

Kelber has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History with Integrated Social Studies (License: grade 7-12) from Baldwin Wallace University. He has a Master of Athletic Administration Degree from Ohio University, and completed the Cleveland State University’s Inspired Leaders Principal Licensure Program. 

In 2022, he was named Northeast Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NEOIAAA) Athletic Director of the Year. He has been a member of the Northeast District Athletic Board since 2022. In November 2023, he received the Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association’s (OIAAA) Bruce Brown Award of Excellence. Named in honor of the first Executive Director of the OIAAA, this award is the highest award an athletic administrator can receive in the State of Ohio. It is given in recognition of on-going and consistent efforts to implement best practices and nationally accepted standards in the administration of interscholastic athletics. Currently, only 27 high schools in the state have achieved this prestigious award.

An avid Cleveland sports fan, he has season tickets to both the Browns and the Guardians and is President of the Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League. He and his wife, Amanda, have a young son, Mason. The Kelber family enjoys traveling whenever the opportunity presents itself.
