Students Inducted into Honor Society

The afternoon of March 26 was a eventful occasion in the high school’s Paul L. Baumgardner Theater of Performing Arts. That afternoon, 18 high school students were inducted into the National Honor Society (NHS) and eleven middle school students into NHS’s sister organization, the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS).

“This was a momentous occasion for these students who are now members of one of the oldest and most prestigious academic organizations in the United States,” remarked Principal Scott DeTray. “Membership is highly selective – from not only high-achieving students who not only meet rigorous academic standards, but also demonstrate strong leadership skills, to those who engage in service to their communities, and exhibit exemplary character traits.” The newest members pledged to uphold their respective  groups' fundamental pillars: scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.

Inducted in the NHS were: Logan Apathy, Addison Bohning, Katharine Buccier, Henry Clay, Erin Deka, Brandon Gawelek, Kelia Goines, Maddox Jones, Tamir Julious, Ava Kmeta, Angelena Mallos, Luciana Ross, Skylar Sane, Emilee Sanicky, Tegan Schuckert, Arushi Shinde, Yerica Tangri, and Isaac Vitu.

Inducted into the JNHS were: Kaitlin Amari, Ava Brych, Doris Chen, Jemma D’Amico, Gianna Falkner, Adham Gharib, Isaiah Lang, Madden Petel, Christopher Trzeciak, Alexandria Williams, and Lorelei Winslow.

“Congratulations to our newest members on acceptance into NHS and NJHS,” concluded DeTray.
