CHHS Junior Has Designs on Career in Digital Graphics

Cuyahoga Heights High School junior Giovanni (Gio) Iacobucci has been selected for the Student Connection by the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center (CVCC)  for February.  Iacobucci is enrolled in CVCC’s Digital Design Program. This nationally recognized program enables students to study traditional art concepts and learn to use state-of-the-art computer software and equipment to create advertising layouts, digital imagery, online social media, multimedia productions, newsletters, and other graphically designed publications.  Iacobucci, who considers himself a creative person, has enjoyed creating his own logo and designing a newsletter. Although there are strict deadlines and some projects require a lot of patience, he said he enjoys the challenge and the opportunity to work independently. He feels the program is preparing him for a quality career after high school.

Outside of classes, Gio is a member of SkillsUSA. This national program is composed of students involved in trade and industrial education. SkillsUSA helps students explore occupations through skills competitions and visits to industries, while helping them understand the responsibilities of skilled workers. Iacobucci also serves as a CVCC Ambassador in which he helps to promote the Digital Design program within the CVCC Community. He also enjoys playing video games and cooking.  After graduation, Iacobucci hopes to keep his options open regarding entering the workforce or furthering his education. He expects to own his own digital design business one day and design for clients.
