Reagan Sturgill Signs with Appalachian State University

Cuyahoga Heights High School (CHHS) senior Reagan Sturgill has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.

Sturgill, who played forward, finished her high school career with 91 goals and 35 assists. She was named 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-District every single year she attended CHHS: 2018, 2019, 2020,  and 2021. In addition, Sturgill was named All-State in 2020 and 2021. She was named the Chagrin Valley Conference’s Most Valuable Player in 2019, 2020, and 2021. She was Heights’ Team Captain in 2021.

“From the first day of practice in 2018, I knew that Reagan was something special and that there were big things in store for her,” said her Soccer Coach, Christy Zawadzki. “Her work ethic is contagious, making all those around her want to be better. She is constantly encouraging each teammate to improve a little bit each day. She will communicate and share things about the game to make players better understand (strategy). She has committed her life to the game and the game is rewarding her back by instilling in her the ability to compete at the next level.

"I am so proud of the player and person that Reagan has become over the past four years. She has left a legacy in the girls’ soccer program that will be very hard to duplicate,” said Zawadski.
