Middle School and High School Students Demonstrate Achievement on Latest Test Results

Students at Cuyahoga Heights Middle School and High School demonstrated a high level of achievement on recently released results for several standardized tests. For the 2016-2017 State Report Card results, students at both the Middle School and High School scored higher than their peers in similar districts and the state average in every content area! As a district, students demonstrated achievement in every subject area, including Government (96.9%), History (95.3%), Biology (88.5%) and English I (88.0%). At the Middle School, students in 6th grade (91.3%), 7th grade (85.9%) and 8TH grade (92.1%) achieved at a high level on the Mathematics test. The impressive results would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication put forth by students, teachers, staff and administrators.

During the 2016-2017 school year, approximately 139 students at the High School took the Advanced Placement (AP) exam, more than in any previous year. Students from the district continue to perform nearly 20% higher than students in Ohio and across the nation. This demonstrates that on average, graduates of the Cuyahoga Heights Schools are ready for college and prepared to succeed and complete their academic majors at most colleges and universities. In addition, the College Board recognized twenty-seven students from Cuyahoga Heights High School with various distinctions for their performance on the AP exam. Cuyahoga Heights students also continued to perform at a higher level than their peers at the state and national level on the ACT exam. The Senior Class of 2016-2017 earned a composite score of 23.9, exceeding the state (22.0) and national (21.0) averages. Students from the district also received higher scores compared to their peers at the state and national level in all subject areas, including English, Mathematics, Reading and Science.

Congratulations to the students at the Middle School and High School for demonstrating a high level of achievement!
