The growing process of early adolescence is one of rapid change. This exciting stage of human development is earmarked by demanding physical, emotional, social and intellectual trials. Therefore, the challenge of maintaining a positive self-concept is crucial to the well-being of the individual.

With the realization of these adolescent growth patterns, the middle school, through the cooperation of its students, staff, administration, parents and community, presents a positive learning environment with which to foster compassion and ensure success. Each student is encouraged to develop his own individuality; responsibility; positive self-worth; and the leadership skills necessary to become a productive citizen. High academic expectations coupled with encouragement and trust is the setting around which the school evolves. Building a strong foundation using Best Practices for middle schools ensures each student a successful middle school experience and the opportunity to develop the skills necessry to become a lifelong learner.
