Safe School Environment
Our district makes every attempt to provide a safe environment for students during the school day as well as at any event held in one of the school facilities. In accordance with this procedure, the school district may elect to use a breathalyzer, metal detector or similar device at any or all campus events when the occasion of “probable cause” is evidenced.

School to Career Program
The CVCC School to Career Program provides additional resources to staff and students. It unites business, organized labor, parents, schools, community organizations, and higher education in a partnership to promote lifelong learning among students and workers. It also attempts to ensure that every student who graduates from CHHS and beyone will develop skills needed to succeed in the ever-changing world of work. The Career Specialist, when requested, will help infuse career concepts into the curriculum in order to link learning to life and to help create realistic career expectations for the students. Participation by parents and other community members as career speakers or mentors is welcomed and provides a benefit.

Because the courses and tests are computerized, they're customized to the study needs of the student. If your child is applying to college, why wouldn't they want to take a free SAT-prep course? CLASS RANK
A student's rank in class is determined by his/her accumulated quality point value total. The student with the greatest number of points earned is ranked number 1, the second greatest, number 2, and so on. Thus, students who take heavy academic loads are not penalized. All subjects with credit are counted. Class ranks are computed after each semester in grades 9 through 12. Honors classes are weighted with a factor of .50 and Advanced Placement classes are weighted with a factor of 1.00. This weight applies only to grades of "A" or "B".
