Curriculum

Essential to the district’s mission to provide a solid curriculum is the examination of existing educational programs, the review of courses of study and the purchases of textbooks and supplementary materials.  The district has established a continuous process to do just that.  Beginning with the 2010-11 school year the state of Ohio along with 30 other states introduced the Common Core in English/Language Arts and Mathematics.  In addition, the Ohio Core Curriculum in Social Studies and Science was also approved for the 2010-11 school year.  School districts have been given 3-4 years to transition from the former standards to those newly adopted in June 2010.

Modifications to our former Curriculum and Textbook Review Timeline take into consideration the newly adopted standards as well as awaiting the introduction of revised state-mandated testing from grades 3-12.  At this time, the state is targeting  Spring 2014 for the introduction of the new assessments.
