Empowering Students to Reach New HEIGHTS
Elementary School News

On Friday, March 31, the Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School hosted an Art Show and Family Game Night for students in preschool through fifth grade and their families. This free event was sponsored by the PTO and staff of Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School. This is the second year that the schools have hosted this fun and interactive occasion, drawing about 300 people in attendance. The Cuyahoga Heights PTO provided snacks, while teachers and staff members donated games that were presented in a free raffle for all the children. A 50/50 raffle took place with proceeds going to help support the PTO which raised approximately $500 for the organization.

Throughout the night, students' artwork was displayed in the cafeteria and hallways. Parents and students had the opportunity to admire the "art gallery" throughout the entire evening. Also during the night, families were encouraged to put down electronics, sit down and play games together. Some activities included, BINGO in the gym, ping-pong in the hallway, crafts, a play area, puzzles in the kindergarten room, and many board games for families to choose from. All in all, the purpose of having an Art Show and Family Game Night for the CHES community was to gather families into the building and spend time together through viewing the art work of students and creating fun, lasting memories of playing games together. This wonderful night could not have been possible without the help and participation of all the teachers, staff and parent volunteers. The CHES thanks everyone for making this year’s Art Show and Family Game Night another great success. The entire Cuyahoga Heights school community looks forward to hosting more events that bring students, families and staff together.

June 19-30, 2017 (9:00-11:00 a.m.)

All Safety Town classes will take place at Cuyahoga Hts. Elementary School. This program is designed for students Pre-K and Kindergarten age. Registration forms will be available on March 31.
As I journey through my second year as the art teacher here at C.H.E.S. I am hoping to get more information to all of you about what your child is learning here in the art room, as well as receive feedback on what you would like to see in the future. In an effort to increase this communication I am asking that you please complete this short survey. It would be greatly appreciated!

Calling all Dads!!!

You and your elementary school children are cordially invited to the PTO sponsored annual "Donuts for Dads" to be held on Friday, January 27. In the event that Dad is not available on this day, it is perfectly fine to make a "Dad for the Day" arrangement. This could be a grandfather, uncle, neighbor, or friend.

Breakfast will be served beginning at 7:45 a.m. and the program will conclude at 8:30 a.m. In addition to breakfast, we will again be offering a complimentary souvenir picture taken in our cafeteria. We also encourage dads and students, if time allows, to visit their classroom to read together, work on the computer, or just share some quality time reviewing schoolwork.

In order to make this an enjoyable and safe day for all, we ask that each student remain with their dad or guest throughout the morning until school begins at 8:30 a.m.

Coffee, tea, milk, juice, and donuts will be served in the cafeteria and gym. A reservation form has been sent home with each child and we ask that the form be completed and returned to the school office by Wednesday, January 25th so that we can ensure that we will have a sufficient amount of food.

Sure hope to see you there!

Congratulations to Miss Petrunia for
being nominated and chosen as the
of the FOX 8 Breakfast for Teachers contest!

As contest winner, Miss Petrunia will receive
breakfast for a year from Panera Bread.
